An ambient garden, not a feed
Feeds optimize for recency and outrage. A garden optimizes for growth and return visits. What changes when your site is a place instead of a stream?

A feed is a river — you step in, it rushes past, you leave. A garden is a place — you return to it, tend it, and watch things mature.
The shift
When the primitive is a place rather than a stream:
- Old notes get revised, not buried.
- Links point sideways (to related ideas), not just backward in time.
- The reward is depth, not dopamine.
Open questions
- How do you surface "what changed" without recreating a feed?
- Can a garden have seasons — periods of pruning and growth?
- What's the right density of cross-links before it becomes a maze?
